I would love this functionality. I'm so sick of feeling broke when really it's just that there's too much money in my CC buckets
Adding onto this! I have a CC I use for restaurants and every time, there's one initial charge for the base amount and another for the final amount+tip.
For some reason this happens to us all the time with the Auto funding bucket CC integration. Think it is specifically related to the way that Walmart handles their grocery charges. We end up with $700-$1000 extra in the credit card bucket every couple of months.
This would be really helpful. I like to keep these in sync, and I can get pretty close with the cc free to spend integration (it lags a little but works ok). But if I get a refund, those funds don't go back into free-to-spend. I think this would cover that use case as it just would forcibly keep things in sync all the time. Not sure how difficult implementing a mechanism to send back refunded amounts from the cc bucket to free-to-spend would be, as you might need a way to distinguish those refund credits from payments on the account, but it might be worth exploring.
Joel Crevier: I totally understand! Refunds are a bit tricky at the moment. I haven't built any smart handling around refunds yet to accurately detect those from rewards or CC payments. But is something that is on the radar!
Voting up on this! Once a week or so, my CC bucket is out of sync with CC balance on account page.
This is live now. Your credit card bucket follows the card itself, so a payment, a refund or a reward all move it without you doing anything, and payments no longer need to be matched on the checking side for the bucket to come down. I didn't build it quite the way this was asked. The request was for an option to sync the bucket's target to the card balance. Instead the bucket's actual amount now tracks the card, for everyone, with no setting to turn on. Syncing the target would have told you what you ought to set aside. Targets are still yours and nothing touches them. Two things worth knowing. Existing gaps do not fix themselves, because I didn't want to rewrite past records. If your bucket does not match your card today, you can square it by moving the difference between the bucket and Free to Spend. And if you pre-fund your card bucket on purpose, that still works, it just means your bucket sits above your balance by design. Thanks for the patience.
